The love for Telugu language and the thought to nurture telugu speaking children in and around the predominant locality of the city, Nungambakkam, kindled Shri.Gumparthy Narasimha Murthy Garu, a telugu pundit of Loyola College, to start a school with telugu as medium of instruction., SRI VENKATESWARA VIDYALAYAM. Unmindful of his middle class status coupled with the financial constrain, he could at last find out a place on Krishnamachari Road only after searching frantically to start the school in the year 1950.
Perhaps his joy would have known no bounds as this tiny educational institution could mould many children to become talented and competent youngsters.
